    PR by 15#

    • Nice!

      • Wow, awesome!

  2. It’s a Growlery rest day, so I came in to goof around. Worked a little on a few things, including double unders and swinging/kipping on the bar. One day, dammit, I WILL do an unassisted pull up. I just know it! :)

    • T, you seem so motivated these days. I love it! Very inspiring. Thanks for posting.

    • It will come Terri. You were closer today than you were last week, and that’s progress. Keep it up!

    • Yeah, Terri, love your motivation!

      • Me too! :)

    • Thanks everybody! I got my mojo back!

  3. I’ll make up back squats in the next day or two (since that’s the kind of work I’m able to do). Today I enjoyed biking and hiking outdoors!

  4. Back squats: 87-99-109-119-109#

Last time we did this my max was 80#.

    • PS. I got 119, but Damon had me go back to 109# to work on depth. I don’t like to think of myself as shallow.

      • Ha ha! Great work, Paige!

      • Ha! That’s funny Paige

    • Great numbers! And nearly a 30# PR. (40, if you don’t mind being shallow!)

  5. I just spent the last hour trying to search for a previous 3×5 back squat to compare today’s to, but I couldn’t find anything. I did find that my previous 1 rm was 159 back in January and I did 153 for 2 reps in Feb. So I think this is a PR, or at least I’m calling it one!

    141/148/165×1/153/158

The last set was not hard enough. I know I can do more. I started way too low though so I had already done about 8 sets by the time I reached 158. I want to re-try this soon and start at a higher weight.

Then I worked on handstands and pistols. Making progress on both. It was a fun day at the gym. It’s nice to be back!

Nanci – it was great sharing a bar with you. Mac – thanks for pushing and encouraging me with the backsquats and the handstands. You rock.

    • Hey! Nice sound effects on those handstands today. :D

  6. Just finished the 2-day coach-prep course–and my brain is FULL! but in an AWESOME way–was totally worth it & guess who one of the instructors was…his name rhymes with Chris Spealler… :-) and it appears that these crossfit bada$$athaletes just follow me around, because Rich Froning Jr was in the class too (just like at my Oly cert). Both he and Speal were two of the nicest folks you could meet. And doing some lifitng with Froning today, I hit 2 PRs (3 rep Front squat @ 264 and a 3 rep push press @ 170)…SUPER FUN!

    • …meant that to read “Bada$$a-letes”

    • That is AWESOME – surrounded by greatness!

  7. Based on the ‘compare to’ in December, this was a pr.
Made up today, back squats 5x 3:
    60. 65. 70. 77. 82

  8. Did this on Tues 8/31:
First back squats in a long time:
    154 x 3 – 176 x 2 – 169 x 2

Disappointed with my back squats so Damon suggested a few sets of pause squats (3 second pause at bottom before standing):
    132 x 4 – 132 x 3 – 120 x 4

Feel like I’ve backslid a little but it felt good to practice these.
