  1. This will be fun…kinda ;-)

    • ONE round would be fun

  2. I’ll let yall know!

  3. Fun? Kinda. It was long but once the rhythm gets going, it’s okay. As RX- 26:30

good work 5:30AM crew. Way to finish Nancy, Joy & Nate!!

  4. I am in rehab mode per Dr. Sadri so I couldn’t do pull ups and push ups were with very short range of motion. I tried to do some dips, then switched to just holding on the rings with arms straight. It was still a heck of a workout– especially after lunging wod.
    34:37 5 rounds of
50 box hops since I couldn’t do reaches
    40 squats
    30 sit ups
20 rehab push ups (missed a few reps)
    10-20 sec ring hold

    • That’s just 10 to 20 sec ring hold, not 10x 20.

  5. It was great to work out with Damon this morning. Hope you join in with us more often, coach.

I actually liked this one more than I thought I would.
    As Rx’d 29:34

    Nice work, Jen and Will!

    • Thank you all for hanging around to see me through it…I promise, it would have been faster if I weren’t so slowwww! HA!

  6. Rx: 34:08

  7. Last evening
    A Chill 5 Rounds of:
    25 Double Unders
    15 Ring Push Ups
    15 Pull Ups
    25 Sit Ups
    10 Dead Lifts (198#)

Perfect warm up for this AM :-)

Promised myself I would do today’s WOD, but after seeing 530am go through it I knew there would be no way I would be motivated enough to do it by myself. So I merged into the 630am lane and got it on. The squats were the death of me, everything else was a little better than decent. Glad it’s over….finally!

    44:06…yea, I know! Shoulda, woulda, coulda….gone faster

  8. This WAS a little fun! And fun to catch Damon at the end of it. I was very surprised to -almost- keep up with Aaron…except of course that I was doing knee pushups and pullups with the tiny band and I suspect my jump-to ring was a little low…but I’m not complaining! 35:02 :) Nice work, 7:30 am friends.

    • Nice work today. You were going really fast on the jumps.

    • Yes Paige, I had the women this morning jump to a ring about 14″ out of reach…18″ would have been a bit cruel and unusual ;-)

  9. I liked this one!

Rx (if my jump height was Rx?) = 40:08

This is the second workout I’ve done all unassisted pullups so I’m pretty happy about that (did Nate last week with all unassisted pullups too). Can’t figure out how to string them together yet (my kipping motion needs some work), but I figure doing one at a time with little rest inbtwn is better than nothing!

Nice work, Mike, Will and Damon… glad you joined us!

    • Congrats on putting the RX pullups in your workouts!!

    • Good work, Jen!

      • Wow, I want to join you unassisted pullup people very soon…inspiring!

  10. Slow but done. 53:45- wanted to quit after 3 rounds but convinced myself to keep going and gave myself a break and did 2 rds of knee pushups.
Now for a couple of much needed rest days:-)

  11. Noon Growlery: Fun! :D

Got a feel for the rope climb during practice. (I feel that I’m not strong enough to do them yet. Ha!)

In 2 minutes, did 18 pike pushups. The first 10 were easy. For the last 8, I moved my hands closer to the box (after Laura told me to) and couldn’t even get my head to the ground. Jeez.

    10 minute AMRAP of 15 ring rows, 6 PP (55#), and 12 V-ups: 3 rounds plus 12 ring rows

  12. Growlery

Rope climb instruction and practice. Cool!

2 minutes for max HSPU reps (I subbed pike pushups on 24″ box) – I got 18.

    10 Minute AMRAP:
3 Rope Climbs (I subbed 15 Ring Rows)
6 Push Press, 95# (I scaled to 65# to keep it moving).
    12 V-ups

    4 rounds even

    • Forgot to mention that we did double-under practice in warmup. I’m working on getting the single out of my double/single combo. Today I was able to do 3 consecutive doubles with no single in between…so I’m getting better. Thank you, Michael. ;-)

      • :-D

        • I want to learn from the double-under sensei, too!

      • YAY! It wasn’t long after I got rid of the single that my du took off!

      • Congrats on the consec DUs!

  13. Power Hour Growl:

    First, learned rope climb technique.

Then, in 2 minutes, did 12 HSPU wiht red and black bands. Knocked out the first 6 in under 30 seconds. Then… So interesting that when your arms are done, they’re just done.

10 minute AMRAP of 3 rope climbs (3 or 4 honest to goodness climbs; 2 almost to the tops; remainder were mod rope climbs), 6 PP (65#), and 12 V-ups: 3or4ish rounds — can’t remember.

First time ever doing rope climbs in a WOD!! I rock! (yeah, the coaching and WOD partner support ain’t bad either)

P.S. Great being in gym at noon again with K-Dog and M-Slice.

    • You DO rock! That was very, extremely cool.

    • Good job, Sheryl. You do rock, but I already knew that!

    • Great to see you at the original Power Hour S!!

  14. Fun to see so much learning & Growling at today’s Power Hour…go Rope climbers and double-under-ers!! And applause for Bryan, our lone Rx’er who braved a TON of really really high–you know how tall he is–yet ironically enjoyable (well, maybe that was just me) jump-n-touches for the HQ “Air Jordan” WOD today :-)

…and although I try to be like Mike (it’s my name) and believe a dude with thighs like mine should never have to jump that much, i managed to finish in 33:03 (mmm hmm, that’s all the jumping i need for the rest of this year.)

  15. Came in at lunch, but had to quit after 4 due to time constraints. Got to keep the boss happy. Did not like the jumping, had to get a running start. Just to much weight to get off the ground. Managed to hit ring about 40% of time. Time was a slow 37 and change.

On the positive, I just ordered my first pair of weight lifting shoes.

    • Dude, you’ll be unstoppable with lifting shoes! : )

    • YAY! Lifting shoes are the bomb!

    • Strong Dude….about to get STRONGER!!

  16. 5 pm Growlery
    SNARL – YAY!!!

    2 min max HSPU – red + red = 13
    I concur with Sheryl…I did 6, then dropped to 2-3 at a time…

    10 min AMRAP
    3 rope climbs
    12 Push Press (65 lbs)
    12 V-ups

    5 rounds even

I really enjoyed the rope climbing! I felt like a kid at a playground.

    • ummmm….I can’t count….it was 6 push press!

  17. Growlery
    HSPU- 11 in a row, red/red
    AMRAP
    3 rounds + 5 ring rows
2 full rope climbs, 2 to the top but didn’t touch the ceiling
    55# push press
