This is one of the long ones; please plan accordingly!
Yes, it does take some time to get ready. Used 75% of my max single reps.
DL 110
Bench 59
Clean 54
20:59
The last (first) time I did this in mid-August, I used 98#,48#,42# in 32:27.
WOW! That’s a huge improvement!
Whoa! That’s huge progress.
Nice, Joy!!! That’s awesome!
Thanks, Pat, for the pep talk. This will never be my strongest workout and I need to learn to live with that and keep trying for little gains over time.
Deadlifts
154 lbs for first 4 sets; 2 back twinges made me drop weight to 98 for the rest
Bench
110 lbs — weight felt about right
Clean
98 lbs — probably just a little too light
Forgot to record time.
Good job, Mike. Celebrate the fact that you got the highest score on the board for “Tabata This!” yesterday, and that you worked on a weakness today. That’s the way it rolls in CrossFit.
Just keep chipping away Mike…you’re a better athlete as a result of putting in the work.
Thanks, La Mar. I just heard you’re moving back to Cali. So sorry to hear it — you will be sorely missed by all of us. Good luck with the move and this new chapter of your life.
Don’t go, La Mar! Don’t do it! You’re OUR superhero!!
Definitely a tough one this AM. @75% Max
172 DL
82 BP
77 PC
39:??
The deadlifts were heavy!
Yes, they were heavy!
I did the alternate version of this workout using the prescribed 75% of my 1RM for all…so I guess you could say I did the alternate version Rx.
Deadlift: 198#
Bench Press: 94#
Clean: 98# (did all power cleans)
30:01
Deadlifts were the hardest part. After first round these were 1 or 2 reps at a time. Bench press first set of 10 was unbroken and sets 6-1 were all unbroken. Cleans were strong and felt pretty good but I need to remember to get my elbows up and around quickly.
Nice working out with you, Meeks!
Pat, congratulations on this — great job today. And thanks again for the encouragement.
Linda
Deadlifts – 134 (75% max)
Benchpress – 77 (don’t have a max)
Power Cleans – 76 (~75% max)
23:34
About a minute faster than last time when I did only 110 DL, 71 BP and 66 Cleans. Yay!
Hey! Back at ya about huge improvements!
did one of the sectional individual WODs with Zeke today…
60 KB (55lb: 3:22
50 Box Jumps (24): 6:39
40 Wall Balls: 9:52
30 Pull Ups: 11:57
20 GHD Situps: 14:10
10 Snatchs (115…Dropped to half way)
21:17. Breathing was the difficulty here. Wow
meant that I dropped to 98lbs for the last 5 snatches
and somehow forgot to mention the 100 ft Statue Lunges with 45lbs
…i Totally understand why you wanted to forget those lunges
I always love going head to head with you. The wall balls were toughest for me, but I’ve been out a couple days, so i’m not surprised. All in all it was a gasser!!!! As rx 15:48 (I think)
you were 15:47 with times at:
2:23
4:33
7:21
9:05
10:12
15:47
(I took Damon’s notes that had our times)
I did the best I could to make up yesterday’s tabata workout today at a globo gym while out of town. There was no rower, so I did the first tabata on the treadmill and counted calories. Pull-ups sucked once my hands got sweaty because they had no chalk so I just did 5 for each round rather than the full 20 seconds. Finally, I lost count and accidentally did 9 rounds of squats and pull-ups! But alas, here are my results
Cal from running: 6/7/7/7/8/7/8/8
Squats: 20/20/20/19/19/19/18/19/18 (1 extra round)
Pull-ups: 10/7/8/5/5/5/5/5/5 (1 extra round)
Push-ups: 12/9/9/9/9/9/9/9
Sit-ups: 14/13/12/12/11/10/10/9/9
Total: 6+18+5+9+9=47
Always always always a victory to complete ANY crossfit wod in a globo…did I say Always already? great work!
thank you! i agree it is much harder to motivate and everyone looks at you like you”re strange!
Was planning on coming in today but we had an impromptu work meeting go all the way to 5:45! Arrgh. Just didn’t get to make it in. Maybe tomorrow I will make this up…
169 dead lift
132 bench press
98 clean
time 18:55
I started with 198 dl but my back gave out on rep 9 so Kelly lowered it to 169 and I worked through. I could have increased my bp and clean weight but I’ll save that fir next time.
DL: 186#
BP: 120#
PC: 110#
25:26 (~ 12 minutes faster than last August using same weights and squat cleans)
DL went ok, broken into sets of 3s and 4s. All BP were unbroken. Did power cleans instead of squat cleans. Felt okay at the weight but need to work on getting under the bar and moving my elbows faster.
Still in pain from DL’s today. DL’s have not felt great since coming back from hiatus.
DL: 264 (10lbs less than 8/09)
BP: 154
PC: 133
30:30 (seventeen minutes faster than 8/09 when I did squat cleans)
Thank goodness no squat cleans yesterday – I couldn’t imagine then doing thrusters
Deadlift: 264#
Bench Press: 154#
Clean: 133#
Deadlifts were UGLY. Rouded my back a lot towards the end.
DL: 198
BP: 87
PC: 98
36:xx. Back spasms slowed me down a lot. DLs were heavy; could have gone heavier on BP; probably could have gone heavier on PC
