First I did the ring workout. Interesting…I actually really liked it…I had a hard time keeping my arms straight…I think its something I will incorporate into warmup.
Then, the CFT,
BS 105 PR
Press 59 (arms were tired from rings)

I don’t usually look forward to Total, and I especially don’t look forward to it when it’s been coming up every month. It’s a great measurement; a snapshot of your strength on a particular day, but it’s not a workout. What good does it do me to watch my grass growing every few weeks, when I will only see measurable progress once a season? Today is the last time I am doing this WOD until after the 2010 Games.
BS: 265 (match PR)
SP: 112 (-8 from PR; left arm still not firing)
DL: 310 (-50; this simply felt heavy, so I stopped)
I’m listing for reference but don’t consider today a complete effort…
BS: 308, 318F (warmed up around 260 and it felt heavy from the onset)
SP: 143. 153, 164F, 159F (felt heavy from the onset too)
DL: 0
Total: DNF
I thought it would be a good idea to do this as a marker, in preparation for Sectionals. I’ll replace this one in the future with something else because I don’t feel that this format will prepare me. The decline in my squat 1RM is a concern so need to incorporate some 3s and 5s for squat. My body was noticeably fatigued after staying up too late last night…reminder that preparation extends beyond the box. The feeling of an incomplete day is unnerving.
I’m glad you’ve decided to do sectionals. I’m planning on doing it as well as Scott. Any other takers? We need to plan some wods together to really prepare.
I am totally indebted to Ian for his tips on deadlifts today — finally felt like I could do them without fear of injury. A huge psychological accomplishment for me today!
LOL!!!

Having an off-day. I feel good; just wasn’t strong today. My diet has been off this week. Time to tighten up.
