Joy – Thanks again for cheering us on Saturday morning. Plus, thanks for the donations to the cause. Lastly, thanks for running that last 400 meters with me. Jane R.
You’re sweet, Jane. I really enjoyed running with you– great to see you finish strong! (And running made me feel a little less bad that I wasn’t working out!)

next time, try to end with a successful lift, even if it means dropping the weight down…the body remembers these things, and we want to make sure we set ourselves up for success when this comes up again!
thanks, laura. i honestly thought that 116 would go up. i did not have a great day at the gym yesterday but i learned what to do when this comes up next time!
I really struggle with lifting technique when jerking anything so adding scissor legs to the movement really confuses me. I need to practice setting hips above feet and somewhat falling under the weight. Damon says that I am a tipper and quad dominant so I gotta focus on staying in my heels. After failing 121 twice, he recommend lifting shoes to help so I tried on Laura’s red and black magical lifting shoes that were too big for me (Teressa said that I looked like I had on skis). Lo and behold, I got 119 and then 121!!!! I don’t know if it was me or Laura’s magical footwear. : )
I really liked this wod, and it was tough. Split jerks aren’t my favorite, but I need to get over that quickly.

The funny thing is that the last 198 came up the easiest of any of them. My focus was great on that last one too. With that being said, I know I can go up to about 220 next time, if not more. This was a really good wod for me.
It was also great seeing everyone lifting so heavy. That’s always sweet to see!!
It’s hard to believe there are still firsts for me when it comes to CrossFit lifts, but this was the first for me.

I’m sure I could go heavier, but wanted to get comfortable with the movement. I’m not all that coordinated, as evident if you witnessed my splits.
And then I did a modified version of Friday’s WOD
3 Rounds of Row 1000 Mtrs and 21-15-9 GHD Situps/Back Extensions: 25:32 Minutes
went in to have my L5 put back in place today, and I’m feeling much better now. I ran for about 40 minutes this evening and it felt great. I am going to take it easy this week and I’m looking forward to ramping back up next week.
Joy- you are so generous and thoughtful to donate for each of us that did (or tried to do) the WOD.
Teeny tiny PR of 3 pounds from oh so long ago. Great mood at the gym today! It was fun sharing a bar with Amarinthia and Trish. And it was great meeting Lani. Welcome, Lani!
I was looking forward to the practice because I believe this is the best finish (for me) for clean and jerk…need to work on keeping back leg locked on landing but pretty happy with the effort. Once again, I am reminded that we have great coaches…thanks Laura and Damon for the help.
I actually really liked these. This was my first time doing split jerks. They felt more stable than regular push jerks. I think I do better when I share a bar with other strong women too! Thanks for the encouragement Terri and Trish!

(felt like I could do more, so kept going and got 100 then tried 104…got the weight above my head, but then wobbled on the transition to standing and dropped it.
I’m taking an extra rest day today. I need it. Just hate that I am missing Miguel’s debut of his new lifting shoes.
Missed you today, Pat — this was your kind of workout. And Miguel’s shoes sure are purdy! : )
and they were cool too
You totally missed the shoes!! We missed you this morning. Enjoy your extra day off.
I saw them! They were hoT!

Hadn’t done these before and was too cautious. Could have put more weight on there.

maybe you should get yourself a pair of nifty lifting shoes (that actually fit!)…I guarantee it would help out all your lifts!

I made this up on 12/8.
110-120-125-130-135-137f-137 (PR by 17 pounds)
First time doing split jerks for max weight. Previous best on a push jerk was 120# back in April.
correction: Just realized that I cleaned/jerked 125# in November. So today’s lift was a PR by 12#’s.

got stuck in alphy working out at my old gym right b4 it closed. gym was closing so i only had time to do a 10 min cindy : 9 rounds plus 5-7-0.
I enjoyed lifting with Terri and Amarinthia…but Terri, no more dancing with the bar!!
60-70-77-82-87-92f-92pr
Felt OK on this lift although still not feeling very powerful/confident with the barbell. Maybe some new shoes will help!
