  2. Mentally, I didn’t feel up to attempting deadlift singles again so soon after Total and just a month after this came up last time. So, to mix it up and ensure I got in some decent volume, I decided to work sets of 3′s instead.

    Deadlift
    3-3-3-3-3

    286
    300
    310 PR
    315 PR
    320 PR (20 pound PR over previous 3RM)

    Later, attempted a single:

    354×1 PR (9 pounds over previous 1RM)

    Surprised at how the day went, considering how heavy it all felt when I was starting the workout.

  3. I’ll be in a little sporadically the next few weeks. I’m training for a half-marathon and going to boot camp. Today I ran 9 miles (1 hr 55 min). Plan to come in on Wednesday morning.

  5. Took up Laura’s suggestion to do triples since my single DL max is starting to plateau a bit.

    DL – 3-3-3-3-3

    354, 376, 386, 398, 408 (+8PR)

    Felt pretty good throughout. I need to work on keeping hips low in starting position as weight increases.

    150 X 3 was hard but my CFT was 163 which was a PR so I felt good about today.
    Also, for some reason, weight with metal plates seems harder…I’m sure its just mental :)

    form was questionable at 230 so i dropped down to 208 and then couldn’t lift it! so much of this is mental.

  9. this was a skillbuilding day for me…

    started this workout with 154, 176, then laura suggested that i use a moderate weight and do sets of 3 (@154) to work on form. still having trouble visualizing, then recrutiing that darn posterier chain! one thing that helped today was focusing on getting into the starting position….barbell over the laces, arched back, “dragging” the weight up the shins, and getting the barbell and body back to starting position. what would i do without laura and damon? thanks for your help guys!

    So frustrating! On Crossfit Total I had just gotten 200 on DL and was shocked…was hoping for a small increase today, but it just wasn’t happening. My form didn’t feel as strong as it did on CF Total. I know I can do it, but that 191 was just not budging. Just need to be patient.
