  1. lookin’ good joy!

    • Yes, it was great working with you last night!

  2. Hello friends,
I have worked out every day this week with three runs and two travel WODs…in Victoria, BC and had a good run this afternoon – tried following a 5K route but got a little lost…oh well – a beautiful sunny day here.

    • Wow! Nice work, Lee Ann! British Columbia is beautiful, isn’t it? You need to send us some pics!

    • come home soon lee ann. miss seeing you at the gym. but if you should happen to be in victoria for sunday brunch, you’ve got to go The Marina. great food and view!

no running for me yet. i’m going to give my foot 2 more weeks of rest and then start doing the 400m running warmup to test it out.

      row 5k-22:19

  3. Giving my lunged-out legs a break today and will run the 5k tomorrow morning in the daylight. See you then!

  4. Oh, the excitement! I planned out a new 5k route that doesn’t involve loops! I will print out the map this afternoon, but here’s the basic description (it makes it sound more complicated than it is, though!)

    Start at the back door
Down the driveway, right on Mell
    Left on Dekalb Avenue
Left on Clifton (at the coffee shop)
Down Clifton for a while…left on Clifton Terrace
Run past Candler Park/Candler Golf Course
    Clifton Terrace turns into Marlbrook
    Right on Clifton
Right on Dekalb Avenue (at the coffee shop)
Run all the way down to Oakdale
    Right on Oakdale
    Right on McLendon
    Right on Mell
    Ends at back door

    5k

  5. I told Miguel and Mike that I would be there this morning, but since I would be all by myself on the run, I’m just waiting for daylight and will run it here in my neighborhood.

That new route sounds like a nice run.

  6. Kids are home from school today so I’ll probably do some running and swimming at GSU…

  7. Enjoyed the route. 32:28 PR

    • Correction- 32:38

  8. Home route; 35:18

    • 5K PR is 32:59 on 10/22/08.
PR for today’s home route is 33:32 on 9/19/08.
I did not do the run on 9/3/09.

  9. OK…that wasn’t terrible. I like the new 5k route because it’s different, but there are some gnarly hills!

Anyway, had music today for the first time; that made a HUGE difference!

    26:20

Not a PR, but my best time since last November…

  10. No 5k for me, but yall knew that! ;-)

    Kettle Swings 70#
    Knees To Elbows
    Double Unders

    As Rx- 13:18

  11. 23:34 with the dog, Louis.

    • Yay Louis! and Zeke too ;)

  12. 33:48. Not a PR but pretty good considering only about 4 hours of sleep. Thanks for the new route Laura. The hills are kind of gnarly.

  13. 5k’s are for people who worked out yesterday…I was not one of those….so I did yesterdays and it sucked! 4 rds + 100m row RX (with sloppy sumos)….OUCH, I feel really out of shape, I need a good WOD to get me back on track

  14. 26:50 – I know this a PR because I have never got below
28:00 before – first time under a 9 minute mile. Even picked the pace up last
half a mile – love running the fall

    • Awesome!!!

  15. Elizabeth (Rx) – 12:34

I picked this as a substitute and it was definitely a challenge. Broke up squat cleans a little too much…need to remember to open my hips at the top.

  16. Some running and swimming at GSU and then ended up working out with some other folks….we did Nancy: 5 rounds 400m run, 15 OHS (I used 55 lb, rx is 65 for women)
23:33…not a good time but first time to do OHS in a wod (never have done 75 OHS in one day before!)…my fingers and thumbs were numb from round three on for about 2 more hours…weird!

  17. I ran in Piedmont Park this evening. Felt like my breathing was much better than in previous runs and I only stopped once for traffic. I also got new running shoes…finally. Yay.

27:23 (this is definitely a pr but I started typing this before I checked the blog and I don’t have my notebook so I am not sure by how much)

  18. Ran on Emory track, which wasn’t any easier. 39:00

  19. Actually did this on 10/10/09
    25:58 on treadmill
Ran my first mile too slow and was trying to play catch up the rest of the run. Goal for under 25 minutes next time.

  20. 24:28 PR — Like the new route!
