more practice this morning than anything else. Worked on the technique. I wanted to try a heavier lift, but ran out of time. That last attempt at 79 did not seem heavy so I’m pretty sure I could have done more.
Nice group this morning… Dancing and all.
I second that. Who knew that Pat could ‘break it down’ like that????
What a delight to work out in the morning again! Yay!! Did alternate, non-arm workout of three rounds: 100′ lunge, 50 squats, 25 back extensions. 16:25
I searched our site but couldn’t find this workout anywhere. Anybody know when it came up last?
I talked about it this morning with Damon; I can’t remember ever doing that workout…I think I took it from the CF archives and put it on our ALT WOD sheet. Damon seems to remember doing it though. We can’t agree, but I can’t find it in the CFRX archives, either, so…
i agree with terri and pat. great group this morning. and thanks damon for trying to teach us this difficult move!

i can’t really call the 77′s true snatches, as it kind of resembled a shoulder press towards the end.
next time, work on getting more explosive with the weight and dropping under it.
Blah. No fire in me today. Also, I need an Oly coach or I’m never going to improve on this movement. Lots of early pulling and catching high, but very little pressing out, which is a slightly better than usual.
It’s a beautiful day outside anyway

Laura helped me come up with an alternate wod…didn’t feel like doing snatches…and coach didn’t disagree so….
4 rounds of 2 muscle ups, 15 overhead squats, 400 m run
15:50
felt good to practice muscle ups…I have been neglecting them.
Always good to be back at CFRX
Lynne (Rx) 5 rounds – Max BW Bench Press & Max Pull-ups
Bench – 10, 8, 7, 5, 4
Pull-ups – 30, 20, 16, 20, 20
Total: 140@185 lbs (+18PR and 5 lbs. heavier than previous time)
I should have had 10 more pull-ups. On the bright side, my pull-ups are improving…wouldn’t have gotten 30 in one round 2 months ago.
Good to see you’re back in the gym!

Snatches are hard
Hi from NYC. as promised, here’s my post: not good! I had flip flops on and was walking down the street to get water… I stepped in what we thought was a small pile of sand. Sparks flew up and when we looked down there were smoldering ashes. I’m super lucky that I only burned the bottom of my big toe. Have some blisters… Hope to work out tomorrow- fingers crossed.
WTF??? What did you step on?? An NYC land mine?
Jane, are you just trying to get out of doing Helen?
whoa…that sounds awful! It’s the flip flops, they are bad luck! Hope your toe heals up fast.
I concur with everything everyone already said about the Snatches. Spent most of the time practicing technique. Need to work on getting more explosive and dropping under the weight. And yes, snatches are hard.

Had such a fun time in the morning! Here is my progression. This is the first time I’ve done this WOD.
88/100/110/132f (grip was too close)/132/140 (pr)/145f
Felt real good. I made 145 go above my head, but I couldn’t lock out. I know I can make 145, so I’ll just have to try again next time. I think the heaviest I’ve ever done is 135, so I’m please with my effort.
