the official, HQ sub is tuck jumps, but we usually sub 15″ box hops

Got a taste of working out at 6:30 am…we had to have our son on a bus for a school trip at 6, so I figured why not? Thanks to the early risers for the encouragement today!
Aargh! Double-unders! I need to start doing these in my warmup. Apparently I won’t get any better at them if I don’t practice. It took me 19:16 to do Annie. I was slow, slow, slow. Tired of being so darn slow.
Maybe we could have a double under “mini workshop”….I have never been able to get consistent DUs and I’m sure I am just doing something wrong…
I usually sub 5 singles per DU but its really not the same.
I just looked back at my notes and realized I don’t t hink I’ve done a basic Annie. The last time she came up some saddist (me) decided to make it “Squatting Annie Up” – meaning I added squats and pullups to the double unders and sit ups. Now that was a good time:)

i am embarking on a long work trip…i have a jump rope packed and plan on attempting lots of double unders and also handstands while i’m gone…wish me luck!

Was very disappointed in “Annie” this morning. Was fully expecting to crack 7 mins, but the Sit Ups did not cooperate. Probably would have done better, but kept switching my sit ups (butterfly, anchored, and even anchored butterfly). Only missed 2 or 3 double unders.

Felt tired this morning. I’ve hit a lot of PR’s lately, and frankly, I’m pooped.
Wasn’t motivated, and had to use a rope that’s a little too short. I broke my DUs a lot because I was tired, not because I missed (which was stupid), and my round of 40 was mostly in 3′s. Just sad, really. If I can do this with less breaks, I should have no problem getting sub-7.

The one thing I can say is that I connected ALL of my double unders. That was a HUGE accomplishment!! My situps sucked, but I didn’t really care all that much. All in all, I felt great.

15:01 – not a good time, particularly since I looked back at my notes and saw I completed “Squatting” Annie (just added in squats too) in 14:31 minutes a year and a half ago.
Guess this means double unders (along with muscle ups) need to be in my warm ups and practice!

PR of about a minute over Sept. 5, when I did this workout as an alternate. That day I froze during the box jumps. Today my jumping was steady but slow. Must. Jump. Faster.

Anchored ABMAT SUs. Missed two DUs during last set (after telling myself you better not miss any during the last round). Practice has definitely helped DUs though.

Gr8 job Fella! You and Kelly smashed that WOD. If memory serves, your last time was 12 or 13 mins.
Also, big shout out to everybody that did their first double under workout today. And to Joel, who might be the first person in history to stick a handstand on his very first try in life. HA, gotta love it!

Still need to practice DU…seems like I couldn’t for the life of me get more than 4 or 5 at a time. Ridiculously slow! It was awesome to watch LaMar and Kelley speed through this workout though.

I really didn’t want to do this W.O.D. I have avoided any ‘DU’ W.O.D. thus far because I’ve never done them and really thought I’d suck…Still plenty of room to improve, but turns out I don’t suck quite as bad as I thought. Still, I missed ruffly 20 DU’s. Looking forward to this one again…It was fun!
