DimSum

CFRX Dim Sum outing!

Thanks to Terresa for organizing the field trip for Dim Sum – I think we all had a great time! Here Rad shows us how to eat chicken feet…might be Paleo, but I think I’ll pass… ;)

  1. so glad everyone had fun! especially rad and amarinthia who were brave enough for the chicken feet!

    cindy today-1st time rx-9 rounds, 5 pullups, 9 pushups

    • Yay Terresa Rx Hwang!!!

    • Great work T! Yes, yesterday was a ball. THanks for setting that up. I’m still thinking hard about taking everyone to a Mississippi cuisine restaurant…haven’t found good squirrel yet…

    • congratulations on your Cindy workout! what a great accomplishment.

    • That’s a great accomplishment…it’s cool to see everyone’s improvement & growth.

  2. Cindy: 12 rounds + 3 pullups; green band, mod pushups

    • Pat – Great meeting you at SF coffee on Saturday. What is your blog? I’d love to read it! Jane

      • Jane, nice meeting you too! Here’s the link to my blog. I’ve given up grains and refined carbs recently, so I have been blogging a lot about that. http://pat-is-finding-it.blogspot.com/

  3. Cindy (Rx) at home….

    18 rounds + 5 pullups + 2 pushups

What was different? Pushups!!! I have been practicing the chest to the floor pushups every night. Last time I did Cindy (a month ago), by the time I got to round 5, I was breaking up all of the pushups and in later rounds could only do 2 at a time. This time, I only broke up the last few sets and even then, I did 7-8 unbroken (not that they were chest to floor, but they were pretty good!). Also all of the squats were unbroken (later rounds were pretty slow though :)

    • Why didn’t you do all chest-to-floor push-ups? You shouldn’t be afraid to sacrifice a few rounds to maintain quality reps :)

      • Yes, coach!
Next time I will….and I will do it there at the gym so ya’ll can see!!

        • Now that’s what I like to hear!

  4. Cindy…gets my vote for LEAST favorite workout. There are alot of wods that I would rather do but that also means I should probably work on getting better at Cindy.

16 rounds (used the clicker and I think I missed two rounds)

…have to get 20 next time

  5. 18 rounds + 5 pull-ups and 5 push-ups (last time was 18 even)

I second La Mar’s sentiments on this workout. I avoid Cindy about half of the times it comes up. I guess I will try and hit it every time in the hopes my push-ups will eventually improve enough to get me up to 20 rounds. Pull-ups and squats are easy and quick; it’s the push-ups that waste all my time.

    • I know! Feels like the whole workout is just push-ups for 20 stinkin’ minutes!

  6. Cindy. My goal was to not cheat on anything (hard for me) and to focus on form.

    10 rounds + 5 pull ups and 2 pushups

  7. Cindy as Rx
    11 rds+5+3
Lower number of rounds than last time, but I know last time I wasn’t going full range of motion on push-ups. This time, I think my push ups have improved.

    • Your push ups looked great! Perfect, actually.

  8. 9 rounds + 5. Down from blue to red band, so I don’t mind that this is nearly 2 full rounds fewer than last time. I’m calling it even!

What a great group at the gym this evening. Yay us!

  9. 8 rounds plus 5+2…havent done this since i started back in the winter…it’s still as painful!

  10. I also did 8+5+2 on the green and tiny band. I have managed 9 and change on this, but I WAS SO FREAKIN’ SORE just walking in the door today that I am proud to have managed the workout. Squats are my nemesis and my weak point on this one.

On another note, has anyone else noticed the teeny teeny tiny smiley face in the brown band a the bottom center of this page?

    • It’s on every page, Ruthie. Must be part of the blog template.

    • Whoa, I have never seen that before! Even with you saying where it was, I had to really look. Good eyes Rooth!

  11. Just made 13 rds. First time RX and only 3 pull ups less than last time with red band. My push ups are better, but can still get lower. At least Laura and Damon think so.

  12. Just made 12 rounds, green band. Need to work on not having my knees down on pushups and possibly move to blue+tiny bands.

  13. 10 rds RX – squats were medium not as fast as possible. Push ups were full range.

  14. 11 rds and 5 pistols RX of Mary. A new PR for me. BTW – Kelly is out of control with 1 pullup shy of 13 rounds!!

  15. Rx: 13 rounds + 5 pullups (need to work on going deeper on pullups, particularly in later rounds)

Down from 14 rounds + 2 pullups on 7/30 and way down from 16 rounds + 3 pullups on 6/9
