Post-CrossFit Games Party

I wanted to give a big thank you again to everyone for all their well wishes and support in my training for the CrossFit Games. Damon’s encouragement and coaching (not to mention patience!), combined with the entire gym’s believing in me, helped make it a possibility, and ultimately, reality. The trip to the Games themselves was possible only because of the generous contributions of hotel points, skymiles, etc., as well as the services of our friends who filled in and helped the gym stay open while we were out of town. CrossFit Rx is a hell of a community, and I am proud to be a part of it – you guys are awesome! ~Laura

    7 rounds + 5 HSPU

    An entire round behind what I got last October, but:
    • this time my HSPU’s were all the way to the ground (used one AbMat last fall)
    • pistols were completely unassisted this time (no pole close by, no dumbbell in hand for counterbalance)
    • I weigh almost 10 pounds more than last fall

    Still – should have gone faster, but couldn’t seem to muster the motivation.

    • Hey LD, you’re post inspired me to leave Cindy behind and move on to something new…thanks! And who’dve thunk one-legged squatting was a “skill”? :-)

  2. Laura – you are a superstar! Saturday was lots of fun and glad that i could be there to celebrate your accomplishments! who knew that you were THE top finisher out of the entire dirty south!!?!?!?!?

    I won’t be in today…after a 2-week hiatus and then working out yesterday and then at boot camp this morning with a killer workout from Bryan, i need to NOT do a 2-a-day today!

    my plan is to see y’all Tuesday!

  3. Frankie Say Relax! Cindy will have to wait until HQ rest day on Thursday. She’ll get over it, I’m sure.

    6 rounds + 5 HSPUs + 6 PUs

    Still need alot of work with pull-ups.

    15 rounds + 2 pull ups
    More than a round slower than last time. : (

  9. Cindy: 11 rounds! Blue band and knee push ups — chest to mat (first time doing chest to mat). PR of 2 rounds + 5 push ups and 15 squats. Yay!

    First time back doing pull-ups/push-ups at full intensity in about a month
    14 rounds + 2 pull-ups
    2 rounds less than last time

  11. On 7/30…

    8 rounds + 4 pull-ups + 1 pull-up after time was called because I was making the pull-up bar my bitch.

    It was my 1st workout with no band and it was good!
