  1. It’s almost a year to the day that I was in the Emergency Room at Emory University Hospital with a blood pressure of 198 over 100. I felt like somebody was jabbing an icepick into my head, the pain was so bad. I made some changes, but the one thing that I’ve benefitted the most from is coming to CrossFit Rx. Thank You to Damon and Laura. I am so grateful, it’s got a big-mouth like me at a loss for words. Thanks to Coach Glassman. Lots of work ahead. See you in the morning.
    p.s. Did I mention I HATE RUNNING?
p.p.s. I LOVE PICKIN’ STUFF UP!
    sc

    • Wow, Steve! Congratulations!!! You really DO love picking stuff up! Maybe you could pick some stuff up while you run next time.

    • Steve. Now that your super powers secret is out, I’ve got this piano I need taken upstairs. I’ll schedule you for Saturday. Thanks.

      • Rad…
        Booked solid for Saturday, dude.
        Sorry.

  2. Steve, (and so many others I have watched change),
You guys are AMAZING inspirations! I love watching you fight for change! WAY TO GO! I love being on the journey with you.

P.S. Steve, I think you maxed out the weight on that bar! WHEW!

  3. 18:43
I was about a minute faster from last time, but I did GHD situps the last time and just did regular ones this morning.

  4. steve, your story is inspirational. i applaud your courage to start this, and more importantly, stick with it. your body will thank you-inside and out. i agree, it’s go great to be a part of crossfitrx!

on another note, i got schooled today. you know it’s bad when damon asks, “are you sure you didn’t repeat a round?”

    red band 32…and change. :(

    back thurs for more!

    • Terresa…
I’ll trade DL of 401 for a pull-up any day!
      Way to go, girl!

      • thanks steve….i’m just trying to keep up with you.

  5. Steve you totally kick ass, you are a beast. That’s an ass load of weight. Congratulations on your new life. I really miss all of you. I really miss seeing you guys getting stronger and confident. That’s awesome. Laura and Damon are amazing people, great friends and coaches.

    • agree with all of the above – not many people would believe that going to a gym would gleen this comaraderie, admiration, and inspiration from it’s coaches and peers (near and far)– Here’s to US !

Steve -you are amkin’ it happen – Good For You !

      • typo – meant ‘makin’ it happen’ – brain and fingers disconnect

        • Cause you’re typing 80 wpm!

  6. Thanks for the praise, everyone! As any CrossFit’er knows, today is a brand new day.
    Today’s WOD
    Substitute black step-up for lunges.
    Blue band for Pull-Ups.
    AbMat sit-ups.
    30:59

  7. I was feeling very proud of myself because I shaved about two minutes off my last time and used less band. Then, I figured out that last time I did GHD sit ups and this time used an abmat. Not quite sure why I used an abmat!

  8. “Oh, so it’s 100 FEET of lunges, not 100 lunges? Sweet!”

I have become a fan of GHD sit ups, but until today I had only done them in warm-ups. I had to switch to the abmat in the 3rd round because my back was killing me on the GHD. That was disappointing.

    21:28 (using 2 tinies for pull-ups)

  9. i’ll be there around 5 or 5:30…judy is dragging my tired ass in

  10. Graduated from blue and tiny to blue! Used abmat. Beat my previous time by 1:94. New time = 30:41 Woo-hoo! Now I’m off to play tennis in the freezing April weather for which Atlanta is famous. … Wait. That’s not right.

  11. Wow, WOD smoked me.
Previous blue band, abmat yielded 18 and change.

This round, 29:56, GHD through 12, then abmat to finish. Red band.

I need to eat something next time. Great work Terri, Ruth, Steve and Cedrick!

  12. 16:50 (Rx with GHD situps)
1:49 improvement from last time (Feb 26, 2009)

  13. OK, So there is a little park I go to for workouts. Its a small park with a jogging trail and every 75 meters or so there is a little workout station. Anyway you can usually find me at the pull up bar station, its #7. So, I took a towel for my ab mat, printed out the workout and put it next to the pull up bar with 4 rocks on it so the wind wouldn’t blow it away (the southwest gets really windy in the spring) and I took my measuring tape so that I could measure out the 100ft. OK 3,2,1 GO
    Rx: 14:37

    • You should add some coyotes to your workouts. Are there any coyotes in the little park?

      • No coyotes, but plenty of dogs. I just looked and I was slower today by 19 sec and the last time I did GHD’s…hhhmmmmmmm.

        • Oh, it was the fear of what the dogs left next to where you were doing your abmat :}

And that wind resistance, next time back to the wind to help you get up.

  14. 25:30
    abmat
    black band

  15. 25:30
    abmat
    black band pullups

  16. Feeling mighty puny after 2 weeks out sick, but pleased with myself for just showing up and forcing myself to do it, however long it took.

    23:52
    abmat
    no band for pullups

  17. 15:38 (GHD sit-ups)

  18. Bah. 16:20 with CTB pull-ups and GHD sit-ups. Two minutes over my last time, but last time I didn’t do CTBs. Still, should have gone faster.
