  1. Dang. I was going to kill this one the next time it came up, and of course it comes up on a Thursday (I don’t work out on Thursday, Gary Glassman. Thursday is when all burpie and backwards running workouts are supposed to come up) and during a week where I actually admit I am ill and resultingly miss work. Of course. HQ is out to get me.

  2. Looks like a good rest day to me :}

  3. Look who is on the blog! Nice. Now all you need is an avatar, Joby.

  4. Glad your back, QF! I missed you – the blog was just not the same! I hope you are feeling better or at least feeling good enough to watch a lot of TV!

    Will post work later!

  5. Aw. Thanks. I hope to be back in the gym on Sunday. I am hoping the lungs cooperate.

  6. Yay! So nice to see new folks on the blog! And yes, I even saw your post that you added to yesterday’s comments, Terri!

QF – It’s GREG Glassman, not Gary! :P

Fourth day in a row of working out for me. SO ready to rest tomorrow…!

As Rx’d with anchored AbMat sit-ups
    22:01 (a 54-second PR)

  7. It’s good to see the blog coming alive. I hope you newbies aren’t “one hitter quitters” and decide to stick around for a bit. Great job to everyone that PR’d on their overhead work the last couple of days. A little progress is always cool.

That being said, when you gain weight, body weight exercises get harder!!

As Rx 34:20 (7 mins slower than last)

  8. Britney “works out”…!

  9. Dang. So sad you found the Brit entry on FF. Was going to suggest it to you but needed a nap first. You are such a fun stealer!

I didn’t think Gary sounded right when I put it all together, but I didn’t have the energy to look it up. Really. I am runnin’ on empty.

Thanks, as always, for correcting my errors! :)

  10. LOL! I actually wanted to post the video on our main page, but I can’t imbed that kind of video in our template…darn it!

Are you feeling better today? I figure if you’re back on the blog, you’re prolly a bit better than you’ve been. We need you back in the gym – it’s so quiet without you there!

  11. as promised, my work. all PRs:
    Press: 55/65/77/80/82
    Push: 77/77/82/82/84
    Jerk: 77/82/82/87/92

I am more strong than I am powerful. (Someone check that grammar- I’ve been thinking about it all day!)

  12. If I were you, GG, I would say “I am stronger than I am powerful”, but since you are you, I am happy that you are saying anything positive about yourself!

I am feeling better, thanks. Still a bit puny and with a heck of a cough.I worked a 1/2 day today, slept all afternoon and am up to drink some tea. I plan on being at school all day tomorrow. We have a pumpkin luncheon and DHR…how can I miss that?

I plan to be back in the gym on Sunday. I would say that I miss the place, too, but I fear I will be held to that utterance the next time I am cursing the place.

  13. A pumpkin luncheon? Does that mean the entire luncheon is based on pumpkins, or that you are lunching with pumpkins?

  14. Dear Gossip Girl,

    Your grammar is flawless.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Language Person

p.s. 50 squats do make a person sore. Thank heavens I didn’t do all 100.
p.s. to Damon: I ain’t no stinkin’ quitter.

  15. Angie is not my friend.
Ripped around pull up 70. Quit. (I guess I am a stinkin’ quitter.)
Did the push ups, sit ups and squats.
Added a minute to my time.
    Left mad.
    Hands still hurt.

  16. So GG, which one do you feel is worse, Angie or 150 burpees for time? What makes the “worse” one worse?

  17. this might be a trap….
    since it’s halloween, I’ll bite.

This one, I’ll consider doing again, if I can figure out what to do with these delicate hands.
The burpees was tedius. But there was a minor sense of accomplishment since a) I finished and b) I did each one with a push up on my toes.

So, verdict is: angie until I develop thick skin
    Burpees once I do.

  18. no trap…just curious!

and since we’re on the subject, has there been a CrossFit workout that wasn’t tedious in some way?
