30 Muscle-ups for time

WOW! I came across this link on CrossFit Santa Cruz Central, and I had to post it – CrossFit Mom! Every day’s workout is scaled per trimester – what a great resource! The woman who created the website is a CrossFit veteran, and has a lot of experience, so I would put my trust in the information she provides. Check out her credentials:

Andrea started CrossFit in 2004. She is a trainer at CrossFit Brand X in Ramona, CA., and is a Certified CrossFit Trainer, CrossFit Certified Olympic Weightlifting Trainer, Certified CrossFit Kids Trainer, a Certified Pre-Post Natal Exercise Specialist, and she recently attended the CrossFit Gymnastics Certification held at Brand X. A Licensed Massage Therapist since 1996, she has found this skill to be very helpful in her training. Andrea trains pregnant and post-partum women within the CrossFit methodology so they can maintain or begin their functional fitness program.

  1. What are the alternatives? Rowing m/u? The weighted ring pulls? Or is our option the 120 and 120 sub?

  2. Yes! All of what you listed are good options. The goals of the workout are:

    to get stronger at the pull
    to get stronger on your dips
    to work on the technique of the transition

    how you accomplish this is, in the end, up to you. :)

  3. YAY! We took our weekly field trip to CrossFit Atlanta, and I got my first 30 Muscle-Up WOD as Rx’d!!! OMG – I’m soooo happy! All the days of suffering make days like today TOTALLY WORTH IT!

  5. Ssscchhhmokin awesome times y’all!! YYYEEAAA LauraD! FYI we have 2 others in the STrong-chick-mup club — DaniB (who I didn’t realize had hers) and of course Marie. So now we are SEVEN!
    I might hit this today but I’m bogged down with the flu (so we’ll see how the muscle-enzymes hold up lol)

    My friend Sven who visited the other week is from that BrandX in Ramona. Wish y’all coulda met him!
