The squat snatch is no joke. For me, power snatches are WAY less difficult, and it’s purely because of the required catch position for the squat snatch. It’s tough to get the speed to drop low enough fast enough, and the stability needed to catch in a low squat is ridiculous!
I don’t work on this move very often; today was 90% about attempting to get the movement right and 10% about going fast. I also used today as an opportunity to videotape my workout so I could critique my form and double-check my rep count.

Oh, Kath, I love your avatar! I wish mine would cooperate, but it won’t I just have to cry myself to sleep at night, with my only consolation being that I know I have a kick-you-in-the-shins-and-run-away-real-fast avatar. You know the kind I am talking about.
Well, That Guy, if it makes you feel better, that workout was no fun for me either and I didn’t a) jump under anything b) “squat” any snatches or c) use 135 pounds.
Maybe it just isn’t fun.
